Concept

How do you feel when you see different identities appear on your self-portrait?

Slimemold Photobooth allows the user to take Dan Wieden’s and David Kennedy’s morphed headshots, using a face-morphing algorithm. Users randomly select a face via a “Tap” button and can play with all the faces prepared in the system. The experience lets users see different aspects of themselves by replicating facial expression and customizing new headshots.

Step I

Morph two portraits together based on facial landmarks to form a new identity.

The image below shows you corresponding points and triangulation in two sets.

Video on the right demonstrates one identity morphing into another smoothly. When does one identity disappear and another one emerge?

Step II
I further morphed myself with my favorite celebrities. I wanted to see how a strong personality-infused portrait turns out on my portrait. These morphed videos are so mesmerizing.

Reflect:
I later morphed Bieber’s instagram photos with my portraits to see how two identities blended together. Clearly, it’s not half and half.

Video below is a documentatry of me learning new poses.

Step III
I decided to extend this experiment to Design Studio employees to see what happens when they blend with Dan Wieden. I asked participants to replicate Dan Wieden’s classic facial expressions and then I morphed two portraits together.
